Merlin, do you use the weight of the ham for timing or ham+cabbage?

Allowing the ham to cool in the water will keep it moist.

I use the total weight, I'd rather overcook than under.

Tonight's dinner: baked turkey wings seasoned with Bell's and onion powder with a drizzle of olive oil. Sides were baked sweet potatoes served with butter & a sprinkle of apple pie spice and green beans cooked with diced tomatoes, diced onion & minced garlic.

Last night was a few bacon wrapped, cream cheese stuffed jalapeños, a warmed up leftover slice of pizza and two shots of tequila. Will probably finish that stuff off tonight - except for the tequila.
