True, but if it's the thought that counts, at least put the thought into it. My daughter was born the day after Christmas. For mother's day that year, her father gave me a very beautiful pair of earrings and matching necklace. He was quite proud of himself (mind you this is the same man that got me oil the year before for Christmas, and this by far was the best present he ever gave me besides my daughter). Now don't get me wrong, they were beautiful, right up until he opened his mouth and said "I got you rubies because that is XXXXXXXX's birthstone." then his world crumbled when I said, "Rubies are not her birthstone, she was born in December, not January."
