This is the GRINCHIEST thread ever! You biatches should be ashamed! :cds:

I said it was the thought that mattered  I just don't feel comfortable wearing expensive things and we were having money problems, so he goes and buys something we couldn't afford???? Of course I'm going to be irate.

True, but if it's the thought that counts, at least put the thought into it. My daughter was born the day after Christmas. For mother's day that year, her father gave me a very beautiful pair of earrings and matching necklace. He was quite proud of himself (mind you this is the same man that got me oil the year before for Christmas, and this by far was the best present he ever gave me besides my daughter). Now don't get me wrong, they were beautiful, right up until he opened his mouth and said "I got you rubies because that is XXXXXXXX's birthstone." then his world crumbled when I said, "Rubies are not her birthstone, she was born in December, not January." :ohwell:

And what really sucks about all of that is that Rubies are July's birthstone. January is Garnet.

 True, good catch. They were garnets, my mistake. He told the sales lady he needed January's birthstone. I said ruby by mistake, as that is his birthstone.

I got my gf a Dyson for Christmas. She loves it.

Actually I need the ISBN # for the new scout book, do you have that? My son is getting a copy for Christmas! He is so excited!
What grade is he in? Go to scoutstuff.org and you can see all the handbooks (along with all the other stuff BSA sells).

I wouldn't mind a Dyson. It would be nice not to have to drag the Kirby up and down the stairs.

See that's the thing, he used to buy me gear for camping, hiking and other things I liked.
As far as the diamond, I'm just assuring that I'm not supporting that kind of slavery. If he really insisted on getting me a diamond, it will either be created or fair trade.... you can even make diamonds from dead people now.

And what, exactly, is the problem with free labor? I mean you own one.

your significant other ever gave you for Christmas?

I once received a case of oil and a drip pan from my SO. He was a mechanic and thought I needed to be taught how to change my own damn oil :ohwell:

OMG, I had to buy my own brass drain cover two weeks ago! :killingme it's true. I have to go back to get the little tool to remove the old one cause I couldn't get it out with the needle nose plyers. :dye:

I'd be happy with a gift certificate to Lowes. I LOVE that place. Between all the little fixes I do around the house plus going there 1 or twice a month just to look, I spend more time at Lowes than any other retailer, and they have some pretty neat shiat in that place.

She probably loves it because she likes cleaning or didn't want to spend her money on it, now she can go out and buy something special for herself. I might be wrong but just my guess. I would like a dyson also or kitchen stuff before jewelry.
Christmas is about giving and alot of people agree it is the thought that counts. Well I don't know about the rest of you ladies but I make sure to let my wants and needs be known. I had an ex who asked me if I wanted a watch, I said no several times. What did I get for Christmas? A watch! To me there was no thought behind it. That is why I am no longer with him, he didn't pay attention to what I wanted.
Men... Do you think women like buying $75 lingerie from Victoria Secrets that are uncomfortable? No, but we do it for you. I don't wear this things for my friends, I wear them for my man. I don't know about every women out there, but I do alot to impress my man. I am just saying, pay attention a little more to your GF and she might impress you that night.

Well, these people die. They are stolen children and they don't get paid, barely feed and they kill them, disposable people. REAL DIAMOND FACTS
It goes WAY beyond child labor.....

......FBI reports and a Washington Post investigation have linked Al Qaeda money-laundering efforts to the rough diamond trade in Sierra Leone.
