I think you are so missing the point you Dee Dee Dee!!!

We could care less if your child has a knife or not or a gun for that matter.
We are trying to get through to whatever brain you have that even in your house there are weapons.. Anything can be turn into a weapon. We are trying to explain to you that a pocketknife is a tool we use in our lives.. Just like a steak knife is a tool we use for cutting our food. You can shelter you kids all you want but your house is full of weapons..

Heck even scissors can be considered a weapon.

My son not once got hurt with a pocketknife. We however, had to go to the emergency room from baseball. A pop fly hit my son right in the eye. It looked like a softball was lodge in my sons eye. But thank god it did no damage.

As I said. It is not in the house nor do my kids have knives.
But he owns and carries a weapon, just out of principle and you standing for what you believe in, you should leave him.. That'll show you're kids how important this Zero Tolerance policy is to you..

I really do hope that look at your son as making an honest mistake. They are kids they make mistakes. I'll say a prayer for you and your son and hope things go your way. Please let us know what happens.

So who here has taught their kids gun/knife safety? Both or one or the other?

I remember when I was younger. All of my friends had pocket knives. We would just go into the woods and cut things up. The knives never made us go out and randomly stab people. I probably had my fist knife in elementry school.

Nevermind. I have said The End twice. Yet, you keep on.

Out of principle there are no knives in our house other than steak and butter knives. Out of principle my kids will not be given knives.

He does have a tool thingy with a knife on it. It stays in his portable locker that he carries in the truck.

You better not let your kid join the cub scouts or boy scouts. Because some other kid may let him use a knife.

Well the Scouts helped on the knife and hubby and I enforced it some more. My son is going to go to the shooting range with my friend. He is an officer and I would feel so comfortable for him to help us in teaching him the good and the bad of a gun.

Don't assume because he is a cop he knows what he is doing with a gun.. someone should go with them to make sure he's safe.

Remember the video of the DEA agent shooting himself in the leg?

Oh I trust the man with my life.. He knows what he is doing. I would like for him to go on a ride with him but It might be too traumatic for him being that all he see is dead people.LOL Seriously he is part or the CSI department. Anyway, His son and him are hunters as well. My friend is all about safety of weapon.. If you knew him you would understand why I trust him fully. He and his family are probably the only people I would trust with my life outside of my own family..

Sorry that was funny.. What an idiot.. My hubby would go with my son. Only because he would want to go to the range as well. LOL

I'm sure that, later in life, they'll be thankful for all the faith that you put in their judgement. :sarcasm:

Cool.. I just have to wonder sometimes, that some cops know as much about guns as a sixth grader.. They shoot it once to qualify at the academy, and other then putting the pointy end of the bullet in the gun the right way really have no clue.
