No, he just said jump off a bridge. Didn't specify how high.

true he didn't say how high. But from the context of the message I would assume he meant a high bridge.

I would have said take a "long walk off of a short pier". It's funnier.
You get wet either way.

Just out of curiosity...

Why is it that when people ask questions or make comments in these forums that others don't take them serious or seem to be making fun of the people. It seems that people on this forum board are the meanest, self-centered group of people in the state of Maryland.

I know I'll be told to take a hike, move if I don't like it here, or whatever, but I don't give a hoot. Play nice, especially if you are adults. Or, maybe what I'm seeing on this board is the future of our great country!

:smack:

Let's see...you're in an open forum...reading/posting behind a computer. It's called humor/satire/sarcasm/etc. albeit not always funny, but it is what it is.

As stated before in threads like this if you don't like what you read there is a little "x" at the top right of your window ~ might I suggest you use it.

Sometimes the decorum of posts are truly mean spirited, but I believe that's called ENTERTAINMENT. There are just as many knowledgeable, informational, and HELPFUL posts. I've seen just as much :huggy: as :boxing: ....IT IS A F-O-R-U-M.

So...you've been on since Feb. '06(12 posts). If this place and it's posters are so repugnant to you, why continue reading here?

Good question...but here is another. Why are new members getting the impression of a hostile atmosphere on the forum? If they are, and address their concerns to everyone in a thread such as this. Is it right for forumites to be defensive about the concern? OR should forumites look to one another and attempt to actually investigate the concern?

Yes, the initial poster should provide specific examples of the "repugnance" they witness and bring it to attention. At the same time.....other forumites should not be treating the whistle blowing poster like crap just because they have a complaint. In a sense….some forumites bulley the noobs through their sarcasm//seemingly playful posts. Whether intentional or not…noobs should not feel as they are attacked when they come here. If they do…what would you suggest to resolve the problem? And having the noobs leave is NOT an option!

Just my 2 cents....

And yes...there are some here who inappropriately use sarcasm to reply. Why cant we all be considerate of one another’s points of view?

Crap. You don't come on here with a post like that unless you are just trying to stir stuff up and get attention. The original post , I mean, not yours.

I know...and thats what i said in the back of my mind when starting my response...but seriously...people who ask such questions just wind up getting a boot in the head and left to the side. I know that veterans of this board could care less if another member joined up but thats how you ensure longevity...encourage new people to join. When new people do come here...and feel the atmosphere is always hostile...they leave. With that leaving is also huring the boards.

At sometime....someone needs to stand up and say HEY...what are we doing wrong here and why aren't we fixing it ? As a forumite community....we as a whole should set the sarcasm aside and resolve issues. Its the responsible thing to do as members. IMO

:blahblah: ditto. Its because of folks like you that this post was made in the first place. i just happen to stand up to help defend a position.

Just do me a favor and leave your pointless red and not read this thread again! You will be helping me by not injecting your negative, one-sided perspectives.
