Yes and no.
Yes the RCC is wrong whenever and where ever it contradicts the Bible. Without it you have no basis for truth.
and, no, Starman and I have never met but we are related by "blood" (Jesus' blood).
P.S. We're a LOT "way out there".:howdy:

You are more lost than the man on the milk carton. Where did you get that lie from: "man created God"???
My Jesus purified me from ALL sins. Your Jesus needed help, obviously, so he had to create purgatory since he couldn't do it himself. And he needs others to tell him what to do: Mary, St Peter, St Jude, St Christopher, etc., and all the others money grabbing saints you pray to.
Good Lord, Bavarian read your Bible before you leave here would ya??!!
You are soooooooooooo mis-informed my friend.

The Protestants beleive Man created God, so they pick and choose a "church" that tells them what they want to here. They don't want to hear the truth, just what makes them feel better. And all Protestants are Heretics so it makes no difference what they call themselves.

Also, like Rome claims Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose Sunday morning, thus, contradicting the Holy Bible teaching that Jesus was in the tomb for three days and three nights.

Jesus said: "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Matthew 12:40)

All day Friday to Sunday morning does not add up to three days and three nights. Go figure.

Out of curiosity, what is your tradition for Good Friday and Easter?

Jesus was that fulfillment and the New Testament is actually The New Covenant between God and mankind which was fulfilled as prophesied:

.

WRONG, but thanks for playing.

It was NOT fulfilled as "Prophesied" not even close.

Jesus was NOT the Messsiah, nor the Saviour that was to come, he didn't meet any of the creiteria or that which was set forth or 'prophesied'....

Yes, Orthodox Judaism rejects Jesus today as they did back then and that is why the Orthodox leaders were instrumental in having Jesus put to death.

.

No, they punished him (he did not receive a death sentence, nor did he die, well eventually he died, but not on the cross) because according to the current law of the land he was a criminal and a thug. I think today we'd call him an anarchist and would find him hurtling stones through glass storefronts and setting fire to police cars, while protesting in front of the World Bank.

He was a common man, that had a cult following.. kind of like our current day Davidians, and other cults that believe they are following Gods will..

He was a biblical anarchist, and spit in the face of authority any chance he could.. If you take away all the Science Fiction bull#### out of the bible and just read about the MAN, you'll come to realize it's a made up fantasy about a person that really was NOT a good person at all. BUT you've swallowed it hook line and sinker.

Jesus prophesied He would rise on the third day. That's Friday, Saturday, and "on the third day" is Sunday.

The three days and three nights is a Hebrew idiom (see A.T. Robertson's Harmony of the Gospels; he has an explanation of its usage). It just means three days, not 72 hours. We have a similar usage; if I say, "I've been working all day," you don't think I mean 24 hours, even though I did say "all day." We understand the usage of "all day," as the Jews understood Jesus.

By the way, Jesus was crucified on the "Day of Preparation." In contemporary Greek, the word used for "Day of Preparation" simply means "Friday."

Matthew 27:62 "Next day [after the Crucifixion], that is, after the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered before Pilate"

Mark 15:42-43: "And when evening had come, since it was the Day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, Joseph of Arimathea . . . took courage and went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus."

Luke 23:54: "It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin" (NIV).

John 19:14 "Now it was the Day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, ‘Behold your King!’"

John 19:31 "Since it was the Day of Preparation, in order to prevent the bodies from remaining on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."

John 19:42 "So because of the Jewish Day of Preparation, as the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there."

They expected a uniter.. someone that would bring peace to the different people on the planet.

Not cause millions of deaths in the name of God.

Actually there were dozens of very specific things that the Messiah was to accomplish.. that would make his being obvious.. None of which Jesus did.

SO if the New TEstament, is an addition to the Old Testament, and Jesus meets none of the criteria set forth in the OT for him to be the Messiah.. what does that make Christianity??

Just another Cult.. just like the Mormons, and the 7th Days..

Pfft you don't impress me
Have you ever taken the time to get to know any mormons?

Regardless if you agree with their teachings, you must agree that they have an amazing set of morals and standards that they live their life by each and every day. They put family first before anything else and absoluetely do not judge others. They carry themselves with respect and treat others around them fairly. Please take the time to get to know someone before you put them down.

You will find that everything above about The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints to be quite inaccurate if you were to research it on a legitimate website such as lds.org.

I do not look to a child to teach me things about being an adult and I do not read a book about sewing if I want to learn to cook, so why would I read a website thats not associated with the Latter Day Saints to learn about them?

Please take the time to think before you speak and research before you write and the world would be a much better place.

Thank you,

Thequizmaster

That does mean I would want them knocking on my door even after I had asked them to stop, for whatever reasons they should respect that.

What makes you think their views in religion is any bettter than the OPs?

Yeah, and believing a person lived in the belly of a whale for three days, yep, that lends a lot of credence to your beliefs..

You must think Finding Nemo is a true story too???

When you are on your death bed.....wonder who you will converse with ?

your logic ?

Probably the nurse..

Or kids..

Or spouse..

Besides, the God I choose is a nice God. If he does exist, and there is another side after death (probability quite low) he'll take me by the hand, show me the errors of my ways, and prove his existence.. and let me join him in whatever place it is he stays in. Becasue being a benevolent God he would know that I was a good person, and wouldn't CARE what I did or didn't believe when I was on this planet.

Others can chose the other God.. the mean guy, the one that will smite you and sentence you to eternity in Hell JUST for not believing in him..

WOW, put that way, he comes across as a pretty arrogant, pompous ass doesn't he??

Thanks. I have looked at that web site extensively before I posted the above. I used to know mormons quite well...went to their church for a long time...got the lessons...read the Book of Mormon...the Doctrine and Covenances...even some of the Pearl of Great Price.

Thank you.

So were you a baptized member or did you just visit the church? If you were baptized in the church they are visiting you as an inactive member. If this is the case you can request to have your records removed from the church. If you were not a member, have you tried contacting the local missionaries or church dierectly and asked not to be contacted. They are not trying to make anyone upset, They are taught as we all have been to share the word of God. I am a member, but have been inactive for many years now, but still hold true to what I believe. No matter what religon you belong to you will be judged but what is in your heart.
Thank you to the person who thinks I need to be saved from my religon. I heard your points, and will continue to believe what I do as you will.

That's the part that gets to me. How can one or two guys who live in Southern Maryland have all the answers. There have been people all over the world studying religion and practicing religion for a very long time. To hear two guys tell me, without a doubt, that they are right, just makes me question their belief all that much more.

I am taught as a Catholic that we are the true church and that all the other Protestant Christians aren't really the true church but I would never start preaching to others the way these two guys do on these forums. I have my beliefs and I will respect yours (unless you worship aliens or witches, that's just plain silly). Please! Pray to God for guidance, Mr. ItalianMan and Starbuck. I just feel you are going about things the wrong way.
