Yet another victim

Anonymous warrior, hiding behind a screen, juvenile insults to people who don't agree... it is ALL relevant to many, many people on here. Where is this vitriol for them? Hypocrite :yay:

Hypocrite I am not. Given that I have been on this web site for about ten years and you have been on it for about six months and you already have a THIRD of the posts that I have, YOU have seen much more of the insults you speak of. The amount of time you spend on here only reinforces my opinion of your pathetic little existence. Now go back to your xbox and try to think of something adult to say.

The use of the lane to accelerate as well as just an express lane is incompatible with right turns (exits).
WHY: Because the person getting off 235 is slowing down, hopefully in the turn lane and not the travel portion of the road.
Using at as a merge lane is probably a bigger problem than just thru traffic. The person looking to "merge" onto 235 is focused on the right most travel lane, not necessarily the person slowed down and turning right.

I've seen near hits at 235 / 4 (SB) in the AM as people try to get over to turn into sheets and the merging traffic from RT is blocking them. Their choice, stop in the right lane (as traffic behind them is accelerating or traveling at speed

Last but not least, since people do use it as a long distance run, if you are pulling out to merge, god help you if they really are turning and not going straight.

Poorly conceived idea but it is what it is. All well and good to tell the person who is whiplashed the other driver was at fault, their neck is still injured.

Sorry, I disagree, expecting someone to exit a parking lot and accelerate up to traffic flow without staying in that lane to do so is unrealistic. And using that sh%$show by Sheetz is a pretty poor example. That one hundred foot section is horrible, agreed, but 90% of that turn only lane isn't that bad. Any decent driver can make the merge coming out and not rear end someone getting over to make a right turn. A simple look at the crashes that happen there tell the tale.

I think most of the grief about the turn lane applies to NB, not southbound. I suppose because people are just in more of a hurry to get home than get to work :)

Lolololol.....

You rant about how you have been on here 10x as long as I have and, in the same post, you attempt to insult me by saying I spend too much time on here.

Here is "something adult to say." YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE!

I was looking at that very intersection this past weekend. I am 99% sure that the people turning right from Chancellors onto SB235 do NOT have a yield sign. At least, I did not see one. That could be most of the problem. If it is not there in front of their face, they feel that they don't have to use common sense and yield anyway

Beyond obviously. Simply divide: (number of forum post/number of years a member).

Result:

Tom: 218 posts/year
You: 1626 posts/ year

Wow...maffs is hard, huh?

Sory, Is crewed up by mentioning Sheetz, when it was the 4/235 intersection that we were talking about. Not that Chancellors Sheetz deal isnt pretty bad, but unlike that one the WaWa at 4/235 faces a lot more heartache becuase of the people coming off Rt4 west(south) wanting to go south on 235. And there is no yield sign for either for the folks going east and wanting to go south becuse they turn right into that turn only/decel/accel lane.

I thought there was a Yield sign at that corner. Not 100% sure. I do agree with your post though. People tend to view yield signs as "Slow down and then go when they want to" instead of "Slow down and stop for traffic until it is clear"

There used to be a yield sign there.

All the other discussion and silly back & forth aside, I will just say that as a north bound driver starting from Exploration at that time of day, I do NOT leave a hole at the Deloitte u-turn EVER for the reason the OP mentioned..some cars can make the u-turn into the middle lane, but most cannot. South bound drivers from NFCU or Buck Hewitt should go down and u-turn at Smokey's or Exploration.

:yeahthat:

I spoke to co-worker yesterday when he came to the office for a visit (needed to get out of the house!). He had been traveling in the 3rd lane, but had gotten into the turn lane to go to WaWa for gas. He was only doing 20/25mph, certainly NOT speeding. The driver of the car was a 23y/o not paying attention.

Thanx for the info, Rose.

I travel from the base every day. At least four or five times a week, I will see some douche pull into the right lane, pass all the cars and try to pull back into the through lane. I then see a black and white or state trooper turn their lights on and pull the persons over. What more is it you want law enforcement to do?

I've been making the trip from the base to Calvert every day since 2005. I've NEVER seen ANY cops do that in all that time. EVER. Not once. In fact, in the afternoons, you rarely see a cop on NB 235.
