I recognize that people grieve in different ways. I recognize when people break the law. I recognize that there are places to lay our loved ones to rest. I recognize the trash on the side of the road.

I am one to criticize their methods. It's not like this road side memorial thing has been around forever. It's new.

People used to have the common decency to mourn in private. Now they want the whole world to see how sad they are. I equate them to attention whores.

Someone I used to know supposedly took out his girlfriends son before taking out himself. There is no monument built anywhere.

I had some woman hit me at the light at willows where the turn lanes are funny. After she got outa the car she told the cop, she saw the light turn yellow and just hit the gas and didnt look because she was watching the light. She didnt see me in the intersection. I was so pissed!

Why do people feel like what they have to do is so important that they cant wait through the light?
 There's no light at Willows.

I passed the Wreck on my way back from Thompson Furniture, there was a Work type truck up in the Grass facing the State road in the resturant parking lot, I thought "how odd". Then, I almost wrecked trying to read the Roadside Memorial a few miles down.. IF there are to be Roadside stuff, please make the writing larger, so I don't have to almost stop to read.. Thank You.. :howdy:

I've not read this entire 10,000 page thread, but I've never understood why anyone would want to put up a memorial where their loved one died. Why would you want the constant reminder? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to reflect on their life than their death?

I felt real bad for the driver how hit Karlie. He even quit after that because he felt so bad. I felbad for the poor guy it wasn't his fault and he even came in after her service and I told him that he should keep his job becuse he didn't do anything wrong but he didn't.
What the hell are you smoking? I hope you aint out there driving around.. He did not quit his job... He is still there working at the same plant right there across from the outback... Put the pipe down basehead...

And for the record, she ran a red light and struck him... He did not strike her, and NO it is not the same thing....

I had to go inside of that truck not 3 days after the incident, she slammed into the truck so hard that it cracked the housing around the transmission... Do you have any idea how fast she was going?

And I go past it all the time and think about her but it's good thought about how much of a wonderful person she was and how things did have to end up the way they did with her. But like i said for the people that are here that were close to her have no place to go so we stared the site a few days after it happened and i haven't been back since.

While I understand both sides and I do agree that some roadside memorials are a bit much, don't you think that maybe w/ all the teenage drivers, if they drive by a memorial it may make them think "that could be me" I know when I drive by one I check my speed at times.

However I think when it starts getting excessive its a little much. I don't see anything wrong w/ the wooden crosses or something tasteful, but I do believe the stuffed animals do get warn and look kind of bad.

I can't speak for 'everyone else' but it makes me think twice sometimes.

She wasn't messing around with anything. She was late for work so she ran a redlight.

Geeze! I thought by the way other people were saying "did something stupid" she was drinking or driving or something.
