I recognize that people grieve in different ways. I recognize when people break the law. I recognize that there are places to lay our loved ones to rest. I recognize the trash on the side of the road.

I am one to criticize their methods. It's not like this road side memorial thing has been around forever. It's new.

People used to have the common decency to mourn in private. Now they want the whole world to see how sad they are. I equate them to attention whores.

The memorials are new but do you all remember that "Sandy come home" crap that used to be spray painted on all the over passes etc? Who the hell is Sandy and where did she go? Did she ever come home?

And for the record, she ran a red light and struck him... He did not strike her, and NO it is not the same thing....

I had to go inside of that truck not 3 days after the incident, she slammed into the truck so hard that it cracked the housing around the transmission... Do you have any idea how fast she was going?
:yeahthat: The trucks going in and out of Chaneys are going S L O W. They can't make the turn in or out of there at more than 20 mph.

OOOOooooo Ok, now I know which accident this was.

I don't drive past there very often and I don't notice the memorial as much as those who do drive by it everyday.

I thought about this topic on the way home from work after passing a few.

I could understand them placing flowers or whatever there in the days following the accident, but after the funeral, this really should be the end of it. Somebody from the family really should take it upon them selves to gather that stuff up and remove it, and once removed, nobody else should place items there.

It seemed like within days of graduating from high school and for several years later, my husband and I lost a friend in a car accident every few months. :ohwell:

We didn’t, nor did anyone else, put up any type of memorials. We went to the gravesite to do that.

You don't seriously believe that a waitressing gig at Outback is going to be a "meal ticket to life", do you? By the way, I loved the pun.

No a waitress job is not a meal ticket to life.. I said it was her meal ticket to live there is a big difference... I only work there because I wanted spending money without hearing my hubby bitah about how much I spent... My hubby is my meal ticket the a nice life... She was single at the time and this money was how she supported herself.. Oh you can make some big $$$ working as a waitress or a bartender....

I saw the "memorial" last night.. I doubt it's on Chaney's porperty, and they have stuff hanging off of a utility pole light pole. I say 1) we call the utility company and have them come and tear it down, or 2) midnight visit to the sacred site and tear if down ourselves.
