So now we have two choices: Bush doesn't like Steele and Cardin's ads are lies, or Steele isn't really black.

Split Iraq into three independent countries. That proposal came from Sen. Joe Biden, a Democrat.

Pressuring the Iraqi government to get tougher on Shi'ite militants as the Shi'ites are directly responsible for the mess going on as of this year.

The Iraqi government would rather blame Sunni militants and go after them than actually put pressure on Moqtada al-Sadr.

Actually you're off a bit on the Biden plan. He is not proposing to split the country into 3 countries. Here is a quote from a NYT opinion piece he wrote (Biden OpEd) : "The first is to establish three largely autonomous regions with a viable central government in Baghdad." I don't see this as working since each faction is vying for total control of Iraq. I doubt any of them will settle for a piece of the pie.

Even if you could get them to settle for a piece of the pie, does anyone believe that they can actually come up with division lines that would be acceptable by all three groups? Maybe the UN should carve it up for them...because that has worked so well in the past

The only way to peace is for them to work/live together.
