I NEVER said bad service deserved a tip! I am only stating that good service deserves a good tip!You stupid nascar redneck! I also cannot reveal where I work because my post would get me in trouble as I explained earlier.
I think I know why people don't tip you well.

I don't think waitresses should have to remind people to tip well. Sure some people only leave 10% but the ones that leave 20%+ make up for that. And there are always the drunks that can't do the math and just leave way too much. Waitresses should not b*tch. Most of the ones that I know are great waitresses and love their jobs and make a lot more money than I do at my desk job (and most of the tips end up being untaxed). I've never heard a GOOD waitress complain....they just say oh well and move on to the next table to try to make up for it.

You just said earlier that you would go to a place 5 mins to close. I also never said you should clean up after you kid..but if my kid smashed 20 fries into the carpet,I would feel bad and apologize and throw a few more bucks on the table

If my kid smashed 20 fries on the floor I would get on my hands and knees and pick it up myself. I am not slamming you I am just pointing out that these are the things that we have to deal with as servers. No matter how tired I am or what I might have planned for later. When I walk out the door with 150.00 in tips I know I can pay a bill, buy a dress or whatever that is the reward. Quick cash.

Yes we do have to deal with these things as servers...but don't tell me you've never thought the same things I do at one time.. sometimes you get fed up w/ cheap rude people!

Good tippers shouldn't have to make up for the bad tippers.

Its just very rude to walk in a place 5 mins before closing. You're a server..doesn't it piss u off?
They used to close an hour later but moved it up so the servers before you would quit crying about people coming in five minutes before closing  I remember when it happened.

Honestly no. For the most part I usually get a minimum of 20 % and the most I've had to wait is an hour or so after closing. I almost never have a rude customer. They are usually very patient, polite and understanding. Yes you will have a once in a blue moon PITA but I don't let it ruin my day or how I feel about my job. It is my choice to work there.

How was my first post bad? I know a lot of servers and we all get tired of non-tippers or people with bad restaurant etiquette. You don't agree that good service deserves a good tip? You don't agree that you should say please? Or that its ok to sit in a place until 1 am when the place closed at 11pm? People looovve going out to eat,but they don't want to take care of thier server. We remember people too...If you undertipped me last week and you're in again, I will curteous to you,but i will not go out of my way for you.
If you are in someone elses section- i will be sure to warn them about your cheapness.
You are a perfect example of why people say that customer service sucks in SMIBville :yay:

If you are talking about where I work we have recently extended our hours. It was many a year ago we extended hours in the summer and cut back in the fall.

Let me tell you something you sniveling little twit!! When I get good service, I tip a minimum of 20%. You obviously have a lot to learn about the REAL world!! You're not entitled to anything!! You have to earn your pay just like everyone else!! I know servers have a difficult job and it's hard work but I've seen good ones and I've seen bad ones. I believe with the attitude you've displayed on here that you are a lousy server who believes they are entitled to good tips when in fact, you SUCK at your job and are tipped accordingly. Please tell us where you work and when you'll be there. I'd like to decide first hand!! :jet:
Why are you being so mean, Mike? This is not like your typical post.....

I've been known to tip $3 for a $6 bill, and I've been known to tip $.05 on a $15 bill. You earn your tip with me, just like everyone else. You're not entitled to a minimum tip of any percentage, contrary to what some folks think. Good service merits good compensation. OBTW, I'm the kind of customer who is always very polite, quiet, and neat. I even stack the dang plates and put the napkins and stuff in them so they're easier to pick up and carry away. I make it a point to read name tags so I can call the server by name, smile, and say "thank you" with sincerity. But when it's tip time, I do think about how the server behaved, how well we were served, etc. That's when teens who expect big bucks for nothing get a little spare change for a tip...sometimes all in pennies, so they can learn to count.

Good for you! I like people like you! The only thing I said was that good service deserves a good tip. I NEVER said that bad service was to be rewarded. I just wanted to try and let people know to tip well(for good service of course) and have some manners when they go out. I don't know why so many of you are getting so angry.
