Give Peas a Chance
Time will tell.
This is the reason I never get into long in depth debates on this subject. Everyone believes what they want but no one will be around to say "I told you so".

There's actually a couple of reasons for the limitation. Why the limitation? So you believe in evolution for animals like dogs and cats, but don't believe in evolution in humans??
I will.![]()
With this one agreement, I believe we've had a major breakthrough into common ground.Sure, it could be.
I can hear the angels singing now! (figuratively speaking, of courseI could be, all life on this planet would have come from the elements in space. This could be figurativly translated into man being created from earth.

I thought I had!
Evolution - not proven. Not saying it's true, not saying it's false, just not proven. (see my disclaimer above regarding evolution and humans)
Virtually all religions - not proven. Not saying any are true, not saying any are false, just saying they're not proven.
The origins of life - nobody knows. Only one theory is coherent in it's principle, and explains all aspects (Intelligent Design), but it's certainly not proven, and therefore can be called neither true nor false.

I don't consider myself on the same playing field as dogs and cats and cattle in the field. No matter how cute Bambi was, or how amazing Lassie was, they don't have souls.
Their evolutionary "proof" is easier to follow as much as we can follow evolution back. The reason there's something referred to as "the missing link" is because there is no evolutionary chain for humans. It's pure conjecture, with absolutely no proof.
well you're either ignoring it or not understanding it .... one way or the other.

You folks have a good one! My head hurts![]()
other than self awareness, what separates you from dogs cats or cattle in the field?
do you not each bleed when cut? do you not each have have thought? are you not born? do you not die?
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?other than self awareness, what separates you from dogs cats or cattle in the field?

Where? The evidence is out there for you to find.
I'm a firm believer in your last statement, and therefore take umbrage at the previous one.I have a strange feeling you wouldn't "believe" it anyway. But remember, scientific theory stands or falls according to how well it is supported by the facts, not according to who believes it.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
I mean, what in the world do you mean "other than self awareness". That's a pretty big deal, don't you think. That kind of implies the soul.
My car "bleeds" if you cut the radiator, and the computer controlled fuel system has "thought" of how much air to add to the fuel mixture. Certainly it was manufactured from lesser parts and will be at a point when it no longer functions regardless of the work put into it.
You answered the question with the question.

Always been one of my favorite retorts when I think the big picture got lost.regardless of the car/human comparison, this part of the post wins best post of the week.
