Keep abortion legal and let religious people do what they want.
Abortion is murder most heinous. The killing of the most innocent of human life. The only circumstance I can see for an abortion is to preserve the life of the mother. Then it is still killing another human, but it is self defense.

But I don't see it as human life. It's not viable outside the womb until late in the pregancy. Therefore it's not a life and can't be murder.

Abortion when done early enough is in no means "murder"......it is merly a formation of cell's...that will eventually grow into a "human"..with a beating heart.............abortion is just the removal of cell's.......would you say you murdered cancer if you removed cancer cell's from your body?

No -

But if you miscarry - don't you grieve? Why might you do that, over a mere mass of cells?

And if I CAUSE you to miscarry, on purpose - wouldn't you be *FURIOUS* with me - even though it's just a mass of cells?

Maybe it doesn't resemble a human child - and I can certainly see that SEMEN isn't an unborn child - but it's no trivial thing. I don't know expecting parents who talk to the fetus, name it, behave so proudly of it - and aren't crushed, when it is lost. It's not a mass of cells, to them. It's their family.

The fetus' heart develops and beats in the first few weeks after conception.

So if I don't see you as human life, is it OK for me to kill you?

Losing a baby because of miscariage.....is way different to aborting one......when you have an abortion, you have already mentally prepared yourself to not bring a baby into the world.......which for alot of women is the hardest thing they could ever do!
Of course if you decide that you will keep your pregnancy, and let those cells grow into a baby, and you miscarry......of course you are devastated......and if you caused "me" to miscarry of course I would be furious, because you caused it!!!.......but if the decision had already being made to have an abortion........it is no where a comparison to a miscariage!

Actually the heart muscle does not start to motion until seven to eight weeks: the motion of the fetus' heart can be seen using an ultrasound!
Which is why most abortions are preformed before the 8 week mark!....anything before this time is just the formation of the cells and the uterus preparing itself to carry a baby full term, including increased blood flow to that area.
A few weeks as you put it is not a baby.....it is the promise of a living thing!

No, I'm already proven as life and I have rights. A fetus is not viable outside the womb. It's basically a parasite.
But maybe I don't agree. Maybe I think you are a parasite on society.

Not being a doctor, I am not in a position to state with authority, but I did find much that refutes what you have posted.

That's ok that you disagree, that's why I said it should be legal and if you don't want to do it then don't. I'm as liable to change my mind as you are.

If they were mentally prepared to not bring a baby into the world, then maybe they should have been phyiscally prepared as well - in my opinion "abstinence" would be the best choice (see I am "pro-choice") to be physically prepared not to bring a baby into the world.

I think this is interesting.
Week 12: The baby has all of the parts necessary to experience pain, including nerves, spinal cord, and thalamus. Vocal cords are complete. The baby can suck its thumb.
I wonder how many women would abort their baby if they knew it experienced pain.

The brain circuitry for processing pain seems to be complete by 26 weeks' gestation, But true pain requires not only development of the brain but also development of the mind to accommodate the subjectivity of pain.
Your link was quite interesting, and i did want to make a point to you about it.
Of course, your "right to life" site will, make it sound that a zygote, is a baby, that is what your site is trying to do. When infact the fertilized egg, is known as a zygote, By the time a women is four weeks pregnant, the fertilized egg will have implanted itself into the uterine lining. At this point, the zygote is now known as an embryo. After implantation, the embryo begins to divide itself into two: one part of it will develop into the placenta while the other will go on to become the baby.

Believe as you will. This indicates God knows you before your are even conceived.

Jeremiah 1:5"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."
Abortion is murder.

True. But almost all sin, even murder, is forgivable. Only blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not forgivable. Remember, Paul used to be a killer of Christians.
