I am talking the same place as you are... go ahead and hook her up... I do believe it would be perfect for her if she ends up marrying at St. Andrews.
Give me the exact date and I'll ask him to check for availability.

Sometimes things just fall into place..... Coincidence that the Rector is from Ireland????? We're Irish and we wed on St. Patty's Day.

I would tend to disagree on this based only on the size of the hall. A coworker of mine had her wedding and reception there last summer. In my opinion if you have more than 50 guests that reception room will be too small.

The church is the biggie. I have a reception site in Lusby which is not far from St. Andrew's at all if I need it.

St. Patrick's Day, March 17th 2007.
He's away from his desk but I'll hit him up for the info as soon as he gets back.
The hall at St. Andrews is very nice also - you just need to get a caterer if you're there.

Only if you want to share your ceremony with the local drunks and fishermen. :otter:
Actually a family member had a very nice service and reception there - no interruptions or interlopers.

Now THAT would be perfect... if she marries and gets the hall all in the same location. Be sure to ask about it Pix.

Why? Chastity is not retroactive, you know.

Gee thanks, how very supportive of you. :smack: It's not about being chaste or even doing things the "traditional" way. It's a freaking personal choice to which I don't have to explain.

On a more constructive note:

Pixie, PLEASE don't get married at the Rod 'N Reel. Think how you're going to feel years from now when your children ask where you and Daddy got married, and you have to tell them "The Rod 'N Reel". :ohwell:

Or "We had our reception at the VFW..." :ohwell:

I'm not trying to be a snob, but it sounds like you're looking for something elegant and at least semi-formal. Check out the chapel at Greenwell and Rosedale Manor. Your wedding pictures will be glorious against that backdrop and it's very inexpensive to rent.

You're supposed to save all that crankiness for after the wedding. :smoochy:

It's all in how you read it... I read this thread and thought she was looking for convenient and cheap...:jameo:

Okay, but the VFW... :twitch:
Have you been there since the fire? The new facility is quite nice. I felt the same as you when I went to the Elks Lodge, but it was much nicer than I thought it would be.

Of course I'm a sucker for more romantic or historic atmospheres, hence my suggetions of Olde Breton Inn or the State House.

Have you been since they rebuilt it after it burned down... It is informal, but the back room can be decorated nicely... it attaches to the smoke/bar section so Pix doesn't have to worry about alcohol as there will be an affordable "cash bar" already on site. The DJ/Dancing can be held in the smoke/bar section. It is only minutes away from St. Andrews... it was just a suggesting...:jameo:

The Elk's Lodge (hall) is a hell of a lot nicer and larger than the VFW.
