Teach the Buell to spit back! :smack:

My favorite is the kid who just got a bike license and wants a Busa!

We had one of those in my ERC class..

He dropped that bike 3 or 4 times in one afternoon.. needless to say he didn't pass..

One of our neighbors was told the same thing.. it has a for sale sign on it now I believe.

He's giving up biking all together..

Hell, I'd get an oldmans GW if I had to, just so I could stay on two wheels.

Sweet, nothing like reducing the resale value of your bike over and over again in one day! :lmao:

Sickening sound when the bike hit the asphalt the first time.. about half of us broke our necks trying to see what the hell happened.. (Doing the serpentine around the cones)

Funny, I learned alot doing that the second time I took the MSF course on my FJ. Had forgotten about looking ahead instead of right in front and boy could I throw the FJ around good then! Got scolded for going to fast!!! :lmao:

Then how do you explain all of BMW's inline fours? It would be closer to tradition to produce a four cylinder boxer...

I think when they first came out with the inline four there was talk of discontinuing the twin.. but the "BMW afficianados" got upset. I have a feeling if not for the GS the twin might be a thing of the past.

Now they have singles.. a transverse twin.. a horizontal twin.. inline four, and a transverse four.. AND talk of a six.. K1800LT.. and a market for each (so far)

I've seen a thread about the demise of the boxer get started every month or so on ADVrider...

The biggest thing it has going for it is it's simplicity.. as advanced as the electronics are on today's bikes, this has got to be one of the easiest bikes (if not the easiest) to work on.

I don't hear any mention of anyone doing their own services, valve adjustment etc etc on a K bike.. and i doubt if they did they could do a valve check/ adjustment in 1/2 - 1 hour.

If you are starting off, I'd say, used and cheap over cruiser/sportsbike. Take the motorycle safety foundation beginner class, and do lots of reading and research. Don't drop 20+K on a bike and then find out you are only going to ride 500 miles a year. Start small and forgiving. Just my opinion though...

I appreciate all of the concern...I actually heard newbies asking which bike is right was one of those dumb or annoying questions ppl ask --trying to stay in line with the forum. My mind is made up...I sat on a 883 for 10 min, a vtx1300 for the same, and felt more comfortable on a R6. Don't know why, I have a back --with a problem-- that's supported more in a crouched, leaning over type of position. Felt numbness and lowerback pain in the crusiers' riding position. I'll be riding from Lusby to DC daily once I complete the MSF course in March, so I hope to see you out there!
