In the mid 80's I once managed a hoity toity restaurant in an inn in Columbia near Merriweather, most of the acts that performed there stayed at the inn. I can not begin to tell you all the folks I met and escorted out of the dining room. :jameo:

Not that anyone gives two shiats, but I've gotten to meet and depending on the venue hang out with several famous band members such as Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold, Burn Halo, Eighteen Visions, Lynam, Hinder, The Misfits, Egypt Central, Bobaflex, Hydrovibe, ect.

When I was younger, I met a few of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, some St Louis Cardinal baseball players, some really famous comedian with a puppet.

Many former WWF stars

Aaron Tippin
Kenny Chesney
Trace Adkins
Gary Clark
Ricky Sanders

Did the meet & greets w/ ppl like:
Kenny Loggins
B.B. King
Willie Nelson
Emmylou Harris

I'm sure more ... just can't remember.

I touched Tim McGraw once. :hot:

I've never personally met any famous people (that I recall), but I've seen a bunch in person. My daughter used to take gymnastics with the daughter of a famous singer. So it was often I'd sit in the same "waiting" area with the singer for an hour twice a week.

When I lived in FL I was next door the the Miami Dolphins right guard, Jeff Toews. I think 1984 was his last year with the Dolphins. I also met Steve Young who lived in our neighborhood, his house always gave out the best halloween candy.

Met Robert Morley while in London England during a play Banana Ridge. Very nice man some may remeber him as the Qantas British Airways spokesperson.

I was sorta friends with Priscilla Taylor, my brother hung out with her went clubbing with her in South Beach Miami. Guys google her... she was a playboy playmate. BTW she is not a natural blonde nor is her name actually Priscilla Taylor she changed it to that. I think she got my brother into some pretty bad stuff a few years ago I am glad he turned out ok.

I met and was not impressed with Jerry Lewis. What a jerk.

I knew Tony Little (the fitness equipment guy) before he went nuts. He used to be a very quite and reserved guy before the accident. He barely spoke a word when working out.

While I was working out got to meet lots of pro body builders because the owner of the gym was the NPC Vice President. Got me in to bodybuilding as well but well that was a while ago so no need to dwell.

There are some pro wrestlers I worked out with as well. Fun guys.

I've met/know a few famous folks:

Martin Luther King - I was a kid and got the chance to march with him in DC. Didn't realize it at the time but....:yay:

Louis Armstrong - Rode down in an elevator with him in Vegas when I was 14! He had his trumpet and handkerchief and was very kind to me and my cousin.

B.B. King - Ran into him on a plane. The closest I came to "losing it." I kind of yelled out "B.B.!" when I saw him. He was cool though.

Sue Simmons - Anchorwoman first at Channel 4 here and in NYC.

Gil Scott-Heron - Singer

Bryan Burwell (I guess he's famous) - Sports Reporter. We went to college together and are in the same Fraternity

James Brown - CBS Sports - Good friend of the family

Kenny Anderson - Bengals QB - met him at the Hyatt Regency the year they won the Super Bowl

John Lewis - Congressman from GA - One of the bravest people I've known

Jimmy Doolittle - Met him when I was a doorman at the Hyatt. When he entered the lobby, the entire place gave him a spontaneous standing ovation! True hero stuff.

Maureen Bunyon, Gordon Peterson, Del Walters, etc., etc. Met them all when I worked at the "Twin Towers" Building in Rosslyn, the home of WJLA.

Various politicians through my job.

edit:

Oops! I forgot about Sugar Ray Leonard. I am better friends with his brother Roger (Dale) though. Ray was cool and Dale is nuts! We used to hang out a lot when Dale was fighting. He could fight but cut pretty easily. Good guys!

I can think of one who I was indifferent towards: Ginuwine. He would go shopping in Waldorf and I saw him in my store occasionally. I didn't know he was 'somebody' until someone else mentioned it.

You had the same reaction as my wife! He would usually buy something from her at Macy's. She said he's always very polite.

I knew Laura Sisk before she was Laura Wright, who plays Carly of General Hospital. She always had star magnetism, and I'll admit when I saw her a few years after a return home visit from NY (I think she was still doing daytime then, or another soap), I was a little starstruck.
