I am in shock

Please.
I swear, you guys are rediculous! This man has been arrested after three months of investigation. WTF? No one wants to admit that maybe all the facts have not been released and possibly the cops just happened to know WTH they are doing? Geez. Just because something happened many many years ago does not mean I can't think clearly now for Gods sake. What if this was your daughter? Would you be so understanding? All this crap about me is crazy. Good lord people.

If it were my daughter, I would have more facts and be able to judge more clearly (and this guy would possibly not even be up for trial because he would be "missing" :yay:)
We don't even know what he was accused of doing...unless you have some information you would like to share with the class

If you past WASN'T an issue anymore you wouldn't be getting so defensive about it. Again, JMO, but you are really appearing to be getting up-tight and defensive about it and I just want to be sure you get help if you do in fact need it.

Ok, maybe it does hit home a bit but does that make me wrong? Does that lessen the fact that he has been arrested after an investigstion? I don't understand why you people are so hell bent on defending him.

Nobody's defending him, Camily. I was just suggesting that you may want to get the whole story before you start sharpening your pitchfork and soaking your torch in gasoline.

But please - feel free to be a reactionary nutjob who goes off half-cocked without knowing what they're talking about. God knows there aren't enough of those in the world.

I'm glad you accepted that this hit you hard. That is all I really had to hear because it was sounding like you were in denial about it. It is ok to have this hit you hard, as long as you can deal with the thoughts that come with it. If you can't, please just try and find someone to talk to, even if it isn't a doctor. K? I only mean well :huggy:

Also, I'm not hell bent on defending him, but I also did not have an experience like yours so could it be possible you are seeing it more as "convict him, don't even give him a chance to lie his way out of it" where I'm seeing it as "teenagers HAVE lied about these types of things before". Sure, he just got arrested and it happened months ago, but maybe she just decided to come out and say something? I am with you though, I think that because of the timeline, whatever it is probably did happen and he will be convicted :yay:.

You people? I don't see anyone defending him. I see you kirking out because it was suggested that the courts be allowed to convict him before we do. Perhaps you should seek counseling for your issues. And a reading for comprehension class.

I had someone pick my son up from their house yesterday, and I went over there when I got off work to talk to them. My heart is in pieces for his wife and her daughter. I don't know how I feel about him yet. I listened to his apologies, and I stayed quiet. It seems as though an inner struggle is going on there. I will be there to give my continued support to his family, regardless of what he did/did not do. Because in this situation now neither of them are working, and the whole family is suffering. My prayers are with them as well as the other girl.

Two questions for you....Did his wife know that he was under investigation and knowingly/willingly continue to take care of children in their home? Aren't you the least bit disconcerted that she may have known about this and still continued to watch your child? I'm not so sure I'd be praying for the wife just yet. :eyebrow:

You really think the authorities would have allowed her to care for children if they were investigating this fellow? Kinda makes you won't what the real story is, doesn't it?

Did you know that Bettie was plagued by mental problems and actually stabbed three people. She was sentenced to a long spell in a mental institution as punishment.

I thought you were sent to jail for punishment, to a mental institution for "help", care and possibly a cure.

IMO, if she knew he was under investigation (and how could she not) then she should have removed the daycare children from her home on principle until the whole thing blew over, or at least let the parents decide. I would think that better than taking the risk of another child being hurt, regardless of what the authorities think/say. If I were a parent who had a child there I'd be really pissed for her potentially putting my child in danger. There's been plenty a woman who thought her man wasn't a criminal and it turns out he was.

Let me again say, in Southern Maryland, arrests are not made in these cases soley based on the word of the victim. I agree let this guy have his day in court, but lets not drag the victim through the mud saying she is making false allegations, or associating her with these horrible human beings involved in such cases as the Duke Lacrosse case.

You have better police officers, and better prosecutors!
