I didn't pet him.. Just kept walking and kind of leaned forward a little to stick my hand down. Then I saw that the rat was snapping at my hand. So I raised my hand and walked more to the side. She then let the dog pull her again he came around behind me.... I don't think you can point a finger at me...

Then you know nothing about dogs. You NEVER make a motion toward a dog and then turn your back when the dog is snapping at you. Dogs (whether right or wrong) consider your move (which was the FIRST move) as aggressive and attempt to retaliate. You invaded his space so, yes, you do have some fault. I'm not saying all the fault lies with you but certainly 50% of it.

I firmly believe many dogs BITES can be prevented.

:yeahthat: And because of HIS actions, I'd be highly po'd if I was the dog owner and got reported to the HOA.

Sure, go talk to the dog owner, but I think contacting the HOA is too extreme.

The owner at the very least will ward off people coming over to pet the dog on a leash. And next time, ceo, if you want to pet a dog go home and pet your own.

All right... I'll take you advice
i'm so glad you were here to clear this up. Next time I will call you so that you can give the first hand report.

Anytime a dog draws blood by a bite, it's a law in St. Marys that it be reported to the Sheriffs Office. They in turn research and find out whether the dog is up to date on shots and if the animal warden needs to get involved if it's a vicious dog

Well YOU posted this, in News and Current Events at that, so I guess we all assumed you wanted our opinions. Sorry they weren't consistent with what you wanted to hear.

My children know NOT to approach other people's dogs.

And, you are still a wuss.

I forgot you were a dog trainer...

Um... I don't think the sidewalk is his space... The dog was on a leash, jumping around and he looked to be playful. I'm sorry my dear, but you are not the only one with dogs. Dogs is a pretty general term... And not all react the way you describe, Ms. Dog Phsychologist... So while some may value your limited canine opinion, I don't...

Now we get to the heart of the matter... A few jealous people... Don't worry guys/gals... One day your clutter mind may see the light... I was actually waiting on this comment. Some of you are still upset that I stand on the truth, but that's ok and it is expected... Have a great day and let me go tend to my NIP...

It was a male dog? Male dogs are VERY protective especially over female owners. And at that age they're going through "doggy puberty" as well. When my pit/lab mix was that age he constantly snipped and growled at my ex husband. He and I were on the couch wrestling around just playing. Buster sat right next to the couch and was whinning. Rob did something that hurt and I yelled "ouch" and a 10 month old Buster bit the crap out of his hand. He was NEVER a vicious or aggressive dog but when it came to his mommy he was super protective.
