Matter of fact lets just compare.

Harley Road King Base Price $17,880

BMW R1200ST Base price $16,485

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Harley Ultra classic Base price $20,685

BMW K 1200LT base Price $19,940

Not a big difference there.

Harley Super Glide Base price $16,900

BMW R1150RT base price $16,590

You like the ride, thats good but don't portray BMW as a huge cost savings over Harleys because you dont like Harleys. Seems to me that some European bike riders have just as much ego as some of the Harley riders.

:bs: Stop making BMW's sound so inexpensive. It looks to me from the BMW website that $16.K is typical sticker for an RXXXX, a Road King is $19K. Not that much difference.
Why buy new when you can get good as new for almost half the price?

11,000 miles 2002, still new, not even broke in yet.. and saved about $7,000

Same as a car, if it's a quality auto when it's new, two years later it's STILL a quality car, someone else just paid for the depreciation.. next car I buy will be used, as will the next bike.

The car won't be a Dodge, and the Bike won't be from Japan..

The V-Strom's base is $9k, figure another $1k for a set of GIVI bags, heated grips and a centerstand and I'll be good to go anywhere for $10k.
Of course I don't get any image for that price

Thats not what you said. You said "sticker" meaning new. You comparing a used 2002 BMW with 11K miles to the sticker of a 2006 HD? Not hardly a good/fair/truthful comparison now it it?

I do see what you mean though about buying used. I bought my Road King used and saved, but not nearly as much as you did on your used BMW because unlike BMW's, Harley Davidsons do not depreciate 50 - 55% in 2 years.

Well< i was trying to be fair.. if I wanted to compare apples to apples I would have to compare my 2002 with a 2035 Harley.. be about then when they get caught up with the technology...

Bob, you are obsessed with your motorcycle. Step away from the bike, please.

Da coos we awl knoow da German eengeeneering on da intunal combustion engine is sooo supeeeeor. Ouwa boxer is haf of a Subaru car flaht foura engine an we awl kno how gud Subaru's ar, da. :duh:

It's a bike for my (Pete) sake. Just because it is so ugly they have to cover it up with plastic shrouds and call it contemporary styling and it costs nearly as much as a Harley doesn't mean it is supeeeor da.

Face it, you are just as much a Eurosnob about your R1150STGERTYYGFDEDEFR as many of the Harleysnobs are on their FLHRCIFSASDASDFASDF, something you one time professed to dislike.

Its all good...I made money off of it...but I did lose a SWEET gixxer... Im lookin at the 06 1000 now...not sure if I want it or not yet...I think I might wait a year or 2 till they get the weight ratio right so when ya crank into it, the front wheel dont try pullin up to a 90 degree angle..haha
Those GSXR1k are pretty sweet. But the insurance would kill me before the HP would.

Pics!

After waiting all day for the drizzle to stop, I couldn't stand it, so I took the cover off and put the license plate on. While I was at it, I decided to add some decals and take a couple pictures. For those that don't know, the YZF600R is also known as the Thundercat in Europe...thus the Thundercat decals
