My lifestyle is good, very busy, a little exercise. The issue is I eat to effing much and I use it to self medicate; gotten used to using it to shut myself down at the end of the day instead of alcohol. Issue is I'm tired of being a fat #### and I need more energy.

You should try yoga.

Salad at lunch wasn't satisfying, Gude :tap: ......... This thread was a great idea, I'll just rail at you for the missing bacon burgers in my diet :tantrum

BIG salad, several slabs of roasted turkey, pile of cheddar cheese and blue cheese dressing. I was NOT satisfied when I finished and just threw the cookies out the window for the chickens (the coolest redneck thing in the world, throwing leftovers out the window) and need to throw away the yogurt and granola and bread and I'll be safe from temptation. Right now, I have WAY too much energy and want to eat the worlds largest Dorito and my tongue tastes like copper...

I'd smack the crap out of some kid for fries right now but 48 more hours and I'll be fine....

The biggest thing with it is just getting used to that not full feeling.

What I like to do when I just want to eat but don't the calories/carbs whatever is I'll chew on sunflower seeds.

Yup. I'm trying to focus now on how GOOD I feel right now and remind myself of how sluggish and bleh I feel by eating too much. I didn't quit smoking until breathing was more satisfying than sucking down smoke. Made it EASY. I'm thinking this is one of those moments; just reached that point that feeling good, energy, is more important than being a fat slug.

By lifestyle I'm talking food. You have to completely change the way you eat and think about food... for the rest of your life. Get the book 'Grain Brain' by Dr. David Perlmutter. Although his focus is on brain health through a high fat/high cholesterol diet, he gets deep into the effects of this kind of eating on your entire body.

Too many carbs. Just got done throwing cookies and leftover pizza out the window to avoid temptation. I've got a box of granola for my 'yoga' and I have to throw it out, too. it's awful...

On a low carb diet you can eat eggs and meat... lots of it. And you will still lose weight.

If I didn't mention, I've done it before and that's why I couldn't stay with it; a life without lasagne wasn't worth it before. Now, I'm fat enough, it is!

I mean, it's day one and I'm sitting here working up a storm and by 3:30 I'm usually starting to fade. Tonight's challenge will be no beer.

Now, if only I had some kids to slap around....that could keep me occupied.....

Ketogenic Diet....Best thing there is ....20g of Carbs on Less a day and you'll not only lose weight quickly, but any signs of the metabolic syndrome will disappear as well.

http://www.reddit.com/r/keto

1. Cut Carbs to 20g per day, not to include deductions of fiber
2. Drink 0.6 x bodyweight in Ounces of day of water
3. Moderate exericse if you can, if not no biggie.
4. Supplement Electrolytes, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium

I've read all sorts of differing opinions on the level of carbs to stay under: 20, 50, 80. Not seen anything above 80.

Having only been on this diet for a few months (around 6) I still have concerns about eating too much cholesterol; especially since I do have family history of heart disease. So I'm curious... what does your typical weekly diet look like?

Take a trip to Baltimore. I hear there are lots of opportunities for that.
