Looks like they are finally digging up the vacant lot in Charlotte Hall where the proposed shopping center and Weis grocery store is going. Please, please, put a decent restaurant in there.
Its Chick-fil-A thats being built. The Starbucks is going to be a bit later, since they moved from over by the Royal Farms they have to be approved again with another Planning Board vote which is sheduled for Oct. 28th.Looks like either the Chick-fil-A or Starbucks in Charlotte Hall is being built.
What else is going in there besides Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Aldi's? It better not be another Auto Zone. We want dine-in restaurants. Its Chick-fil-A thats being built. No. St. Mary’s is at the end of a very long supply chains single site down here is a liability. Now build a few sites at the same time and it suddenly makes sense to send trucks this direction. And I always wanted a pony.
If you guys want all these things then you need to stop answering the questions the way you are when the County's Economic Development Agency solicits public comment.
You also have to accept the fact that, for a number of reasons, Southern Maryland, especially Calvert and St. Mary's, don't meet the various metrics many companies look for when siting a new outlet.
Then add in the fact that everybody always says they'll support a local business but when the time comes to they don't.
That distance is one of the metrics.No. St. Mary’s is at the end of a very long supply chains single site down here is a liability. Now build a few sites at the same time and it suddenly makes sense to send trucks this direction.
And....pull those private investment dollars out of your own pocket and get going. I'm constantly amazed at the number of commenters on various public forums that come out with the "we don't need that, we need this or the other!" as if the Planning Commision and commissioners were the ones deciding what businesses need to start up. As if, during a review, one or the other commissioner would come out and say" Sorry, Mr. Investor, we don't need another auto parts store. We want you to open up a go kart track or a skateboard park instead. 'kay?"And I always wanted a pony.

I see Fiesta Pollo in LP is closing soon.
For your consideration ...
They closed today, the 13th, per their facebook page. But their Mechanicsville and Charlotte Hall locations will be and are still open for business.

When did you go?Fiesta didn't impress me at all.
Many other places are doing fine in that part of town. Bottom line was their menu didn't attract the base lunch crowd.Fiesta had good food. It is a shame that they will be closing. I can't say I blame them - who wants to be in that part of town?
That specific store used to be the A&W. When he closed, it was due to the park rats coming out of the neighborhood.Fiesta had good food. It is a shame that they will be closing. I can't say I blame them - who wants to be in that part of town?
I now have heard Dec 8th for openning. No one knows what is going to go in beside it. Just enough room for some type of sitdown restaurant. maybe.Anyone know when the Royal Farms is going to open? Thought it would be opened by now. They need to fill-in more asphalt for the entrance. And what's going to be built next to it?
