Calvert, Prince Frederick and north of it.

/thread

I should clarify. Nothing wrong with most other areas mentioned but given the priorities expressed in the OP, that's where I would look:

  • decent commute to the plant
  • proximity to 'out of county' retail
  • options for hospitals in both PF and naptown
  • proximity to DC for entertainment
  • some of the better schools in the area
  • just a nice area

If I may ...

That was actually a pretty good post, very informative, and I agree with everything you said...except the last statement. That was pretty uppity and snotty. I have friends in Calvert, and they are anything but uppity and snotty.
True. It was a simple broad stroke of a comment, by bad. But in general, the majority of folks, in St Mary's, do tend to seem much more laid back. Kinda like many of the folks in Southern Calvert. If when, you get further north is where the uppity and snotty come into play. Oh yeah. And I did forget to mention the fully armored up, full combat gear, gestapo type uniformed looking deputies that grace our presence courtesy of the Illustrious Sheriff Mike Evans. Whereas the Sheriff in St. Mary's has his deputies looking like, well, deputies.

WTF???? 5 min drive to CCNPP. And seriously, move to st. Mary's to save money on emissions testing? a huge $12 every two years!!!! not even going to address the rest of the dumb crap you wrote.
A five minute drive after you are at the bottom of the bridge on Calvert's side. Yes.

Not true and anyone who travels over that bridge to and from work will tell you. I remember those backups well and it taking half an hour to get from Settler's Landing to Ruddy Duck, normally a 10 minute trip. And that's when there's no accident on the bridge, which can push that drive time to an hour or more.
Well, I can say from experience. The drive to St. Mary's in the morning, during a rush hour, is far far far longer and more frustrating than a drive in the morning to Calvert, during a rush hour.

I misunderstood :flowers: You're right, the traffic flow would be going into St. Mary's during morning rush, not into Calvert.

South of the base, St Marys. Greebrier is off of Hermanville Rd. It's the south end of The Park (what locals call Lexington Park), so it's a bit removed. I can't vouch for the neighborhood anymore, as we've been gone for 4 years.

I don't have any lists of builders, and most of them have gone out of business, or changed their names. I do know that there were some "Quality" homes that I heard negative things about. Beyond that, I'm not sure anymore. It's been a while since these homes were built. 25+ years.
HELLS NO!!

Stay away from ANYTHING South of the BASE. The schools suck.. crime is rampant.. the murder rate is on par with inner city DC..

Run away.. Run Away!!

Folks, you seem to forget this person will be going counterflow if they live in the Park and drive to Calvert. When I drop my wife in Wildwodd for work in the morning, going south is horrible, but the flow going north into Calver is nothing. Same in the afternoon.

Now, about the Park, you all think of the Park as the 1/2 mile radius around the Library. But I live in the Park. On 4 acres of complete woods with nobody near. The Park is huge. Google Maps shows this, which is only about 50% of the whole place, shown below. So dont shut the Park out. View attachment 144309

But everything South of Hermanville is Redneck Ghetto, trailer trash and LOTS of crime.. can't let your kids out to play.. pollution is TERRIBLE.. nobody talks to anybody.. and the SMELL.. OMG the god awful smell..

Isn't the blond cop-bitch on the St Marys side, or is she a sheriff?

I see you're just as charming in non political threads.

I'll wager that you're positively delightful in person, and nobody wants to punch your ****ing teeth in.
:killingme It has to be one of the people on my "ignore" list, which makes it even funnier, what the hell could they say to piss you off about location?
That was rhetorical

Would you like to tell us how you really feel about her?

I've never had the opportunity to make the acquaintance of Calvert County's Finest.
My only exposure has been with them doing traffic control around the Museum (concerts) and Live PD (their brief national exposure)

we are coming down next Friday as I stated in one of my posts. However it is always nice to get local perspective on places. I appreciate your input though

And don't hold the climate on this forum against the area. We are all much nicer in person 😉.

I've never personally had an encounter with her, but I've heard several stories. I don't know if she's SM's, Calvert, or Sheriffs. I was stopped once for speeding in Calvert, and the officer couldn't have been nicer.
