Push for 'shall-issue' concealed carry in MD

How many armed robberies went unsolved last year with fatalities? I promise you that stat will increase just because criminals are paranoid just like you are and will shoot first then take your wallet, sell your credit cards, sell your identity to some illegal. You acting like you are never alone or always with people that will able to protect you.

As has been stated before, you don't see many headlines that read "Armed Robbery At Local Gun Shop" for a reason.

That hasn't been the case where "will issue" laws have passed. The crime rate goes down.
It's one thing to risk jail, where you get fed, see your buddies, free medical, etc., and risking somebody putting a hole in you.

Criminals live with that risk everyday even in jail. It comes with being a criminal. I could it see if before you commit to being criminal as a deterent but harden criminals dont have anything to live for anyway..

Well, who doesn' t know people who have beaten, stabbed, shot and robbed in all these locations and other places too these are called bad experiences Ken.

We have a serious push underway for 'shall-issue' concealed carry. There are a group of experienced activists behind this. There have been shall-issue laws introduced the last couple of years but they did not have an organized effort behind them. Right now every state surrounding us has shall-issue. The time is right, and we are pro-active this time!

one should judge all gun owners by the acts of a few criminals, just like one should judge all blacks by the acts of a few inner-city crack dealers.

I dont think banning guns is a good thing. I dont want everybody to be able carry guns in public. There is too many things that can go wrong if that is allowed.

I guess you think it makes more sense to only have people that don't obey the law carry guns. We're already "able" to carry guns in MD, it's just not legal so law abiding people don't do it.

You want your fellow citizens left with no legal ability to protect ourselves so that the vermin of the area can continue to rape, murder, and steal. All this because you worry about what the law-abiding citizen might do if allowed to carry (which by the way does not mean that they all will carry).

He also does not seem to take into account the discernment of the average American citizen: Just because the passing of this act would allow an individual to legally carry, it does not follow that an individual would not use appropriate caution concerning the use of that firearm.

If enough of these criminals were shot by law abiding citizens carrying firearms, maybe they would think twice before committing a crime.

Smoke detectors.

Fire extinguishers.

911

The court system.

A cop.

A fireman.

Emergency survival kit.

Spare tire.

The emergency room.

Life and/or disability insurance.

Air bags.

Can any one think of some other examples?
