I never said it was that the overwhelming majority is gay. And, I do realize the media has an agenda. I've said there are gay actors and singers ... and hell, there have been a few gay politicians who have voted AGAINST what they believe in simply because they think it means more votes.

I don't know who votes on the Oscars, and quite honestly, I don't think the people OR the government should have any say at all in marriage.

Marriage is defined by the Church, NOT BY THE GOVERNMENT!!!

More than likely, those churches are against Gay Marriage - because it's already been written out in the bible. Our Government has NO PLACE interfeering in this. If they do, then they should uphold the Constitution (which prohibits them from interfeering in the first place, see seperation of Church and State) and say all people are equal.

So to get divorced you go see a reverend or a priest? Marriage licenses are issued by the Catholic church?

Homosexuality is becoming socially acceptable, but there are regional and cultural areas where it is not acceptable. Something that the gay community needs to realize is that they are not blazing a new trail. Long ago, it was not socially acceptable to be non-Christian and people died because of it (Salem witch trials...). Women also had to fight for acceptability as more than just property of the husband and then as more than just homemakers. Not so long ago, blacks were not accepted in society and, among some people, still aren't. There is not question that some have been killed/beaten just for being black and it still happens today. Changing social acceptability takes time and it doesn't happen by force. The "militant" gay community actually hurts the cause by pushing for acceptance of more than just different behavior, but pushing for acceptance of socially freakish behavior. The further and harder you try to push the line of acceptability, the harder the line pushes back.

So, I'm actually trying to figure out your opinion here.
I'm simply saying that all fault in this shooting lies with the shooter. An extreme amount of intolerance caused this shooting. It doesn't matter how uncomfortable this kid felt he wasn't being threated and wasn't justified. Whether dead kid wasn't acting with social norms doesn't matter, if the intolerance doesn't end then the violence won't either.
