All prepped and ready, time to just sit back and wait for whatever we get. Made a quick run out to the Post Office and the transfer station. People are in nutso mode and the stores look like the day before Christmas.

Main highway was brined like usual, my road was sand/salted. Must have been something off with the spreader tho, dumped a buttload of mix a half inch deep but only in the middle of the road, nothing left and right. Appears the whole neighborhood was done like that.
What time were you at the transfer station?

Beautiful drive from WMd back to SMC. Made it in 4-1/2 hours. Traffic was not bad at all. The heaviest traffic was on the short stretch of US-15 between Warrenton and Opal, and right at the I-95 interchange at Falmouth.
We just got back from Front Royal VA where we'd been for a weekend visit. They had snow on the groud the whole time. I-66, I-495, Rt 5 & 235 had regular traffic. No backups. Made it in 2 1/2 hours.

Picked up my son at DCA at 3:00. The drive back was surprisingly mellow. So was the drive up except for the guy that almost sideswiped my ass and then decided to brake check me on 495 at 65 mph. Don't think he was expecting me to get as close as I did before I braked... :) Then we spent about 3 minutes with him going 50 mph with me 6 in off his bumper before he gave up.:)

NWS forecast for Pax River:
3-5 inches tonight
3-5 inches tomorrow daytime
1-3 inches tomorrow night
If I do the math, thats 7-13 inches for this storm, mostly snow, some sleet, little or no ice.
Could be a fun day for the kiddies tomorrow.
My home office will still be open.

SMCP has called for schools closed tomorrow. Not surprised, think it's a good call since middle school busses start early.

I’ve got all my equipment ready - 2 pickups with salt spreaders and snow plows, 3 tractors with plows and a skid steer with a snow pusher, 6 drivers, 2 helpers, and 5 backup drivers - I think this will be a 24-30 hour event for us. The county is having us load with salt this evening at 11pm and start spreading. All snow plows are being called out at the same time.

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
Wish I had that option.

Hopefully my next residence.
One of the reasons I bought it. Plenty of room for the truck, Sling, tools, workbench, storage, 2-3 tons of pellets... even more if I didn't have the laundry room out there. Even in the dead of winter, unheated, it never drops below 45* in there, so getting into a 'cold' car is not an issue. Never have to scrape windows, wait for the defroster....
