I think I have some extra HDMI cables if you want to try one and change your TV settings.. Otherwise, I am confused as hell..

I have one too...the guy that sold me the television said I needed it in order to get the HD channels....there is no hook up on the back of the DirectTv box for it :ohwell:

Use an HDMI cable from the Tivo to the TV then change your input settings on the tv to the HDMI input.
Lets talk. :really:

You need to learn how to hook a TV up first :poorbaby:
Hey, I know now!

Not sure if it would make a difference but I would think you'd want your splitter BEFORE your modem.. One less "joint" less signal loss..
That's what I have. My first sketch was incorrect.

What she said.
Thanks!

Call Direct TV and let them know, they will send you a newer model rcvr/dvr.
Atleast they did for me.

Now that Baja knows about HDMI and composite video, lets tell him about component video (R,G,B).

Last set of cables I picked up came from Ollie's, 3 pack for 9.99. HDMI 1.3 with no issues. The marketing and mark up behind the cables is ridiculous, friend went out and spent over $600 on monster HDMI cables for his new setup, 5 6' cables, 2 20' cables and some various other for Optical sound, subwoofer etc. he got screwed.

Baja the last TV we bought that big was from GLHS, I want to say 6 or 7 years ago. Throw it on craigslist or take it to the dump.

I put it on CL & somd.com. No joy. Prolly end up taking it to the dump. Shame, it works great. :ohwell:

Smart TV's have one or more internet options built in

Youtube
HuluPlus

Vimeo
DailyMotiol etc
I heard you can surf too like FB?

I just came back from the transfer station and there about 10 of them up there in the field by the attendents booth..
At the transfer station? Surprised they let ppl. drop them there.

Oh, hell, I had forgotten about that:buddies: 6-7 years sounds right, I moved up from that to a DLP which was a great TV, then from that to the LED LCD.

Baja, if it works, I know Habitats ReStore takes them and sells them. Good write off for you, and someone gets a huge TV for a decent price

Yes. At the one on Rt 4 there is a drop of for any and all electronics, including large TVs. Computers, radios, old stereos, printers, etc.....

Most TVs with Internet apps won't let you 'surf' like a PC. They have certain web applications like YouTube, Hulu, FaceBook, etc, but you can't just type in a URL and surf. There may be one or two that now do that, but far and few between.

Someone mentioned WD HD. I have 3, use them for all my movies stored on USB hard drives. They are plagued with problems, but I've gotten mine down to just playing my DVD movies and I don't do anything else with it. If I want to surf on a large screen, I connect an HDMI cable from my laptop to the flat screen and use it as a huge display.

There are also many new BluRay players that have built-in web applications. I'd be more inclined to do that rather than get web enabled TVs. When the technology updates, and it will, cheaper to replace a DVD player than a TV.

My mother had that TV up until about 3 years ago. She gave it someone else, it needed a new bulb. She downsized to a 40" LCD, major difference.

I went big with the home theater in my new house. 120" screen, Benq projector and a 5.1 yamaha surround sound. The sound setup will be upgraded later as well as the projector, but i paid under $1,000 for everything.

I had done that too, 120" screen and projector. I've since abandoned that and just use my 47" in the family room with a 5.1 audio system. I use the projector and screen for outdoor movies now.

Will they pick up? I don't want to have to deliver that pig.

Hmmm, not sure, you would have to call.

I know what a bear it is to move one of those:)

I also know that the Ridge transfer station has a few up there also, theres a small (8x8x10, I think) cargo container just for electronics
