Tortured Iraqis

According to the news the first head has rolled.. Arab TV just televised a beheading of an American Prisoner in answer to the way we teased their prisoners.. COULD this be why the president and staff were trying to keep this QUIET!??

After this, why don't we just slaughter the POWs by leaving them to slowly bleed to death in the desert?

I'm wondering if Al Jazeera is blasting this action night and day, day and night.

And I'm wondering further if all the left-wing arabs (or equivalent) are up in arms over such a horrendous atrocity against man and nature.

I'm wondering if left-wing Americans are going to be up in arms over this. (With actual anger at the people who did it - not at Bush and Rumsfeld for facilitating it).

Somehow, I doubt it.

The DU is already trying to bend the conspiracy theory out of it (from Halliburton to the FBI doing it). They are comparing it to the abuses in the prisons, as if they are one in the same. A lot of other trash of similar vein from them.

okay, this is what we do... we pull out EVERY US citizen and US ally from the countries... we then give one warning "If you're with the rebuilding of Iraq, raise your hand" we then take them, in planes, and fly them to Canada (they have more room to spare) and then we shut off the power in the country, shut off water supply, damn rivers, and then just let the summer heat bake the son-of-#####es

Oh sure, shoot the messenger. Now it is the media's fault, not the fault of the soldiers being idiots. UFB. Talk about passing blame. Hopefully (and regretfully) our troops will think about the consequences of their actions before doing this stuff again.

That's not what he said.

Absolutely agree.

However, the hype that this incident has received will serve little besides stirring an already agitated pot.

Hey, after 9/11 I was ready to close down every embassy in Washington, close all our foreign embassies, and shut down all immigration and emigration. Then I would watch Bush beat the shiat out of the Taliban's ambassador, and threaten to turn Afghanistan into a parking lot in 12 hours unless they handed bin Laden over to us.

You know why it's different when our troops torture people versus Saddam's henchmen torture people? Our troops do it because we're under attack and we want to feel safe. Saddam's regime did it because they were bad people who craved only power.

I can't even believe you said that. We parade their guys around in ladies underwear - they respond by chopping off the head of one of our guys. And somehow you think that is a just "consequence"? Please tell me I misunderstood you.

PS, why is Al Qaeda getting involved in this AGAIN anyway? I thought they didn't have any connection with Iraq?

PSS, so far we've had umpteen days of Iraqi POW front page coverage in the Wash Post and other Leftist rags. Any bets on how many stories they devote to the beheading?

I say 1. With a subheadline on an interior page.

Nope, I don't think so, he was responding to itsbob's reference to the beheading. :bubble:

We can not go around thinking we can do whatever it is we want and not have people come back at us. We don't court martial our troops just for marching prisoners in women's underwear. Just like some feel justified in doing this stuff to the iraqi prisoners, I'm sure these thugs feel even more justified. These are terrorists, they don't need much (if any) reason to do harm, but if they can make their actions correspond to a certain event (iraqi soldiers being messed with) then their support grows. Yes, the two acts are not equal in severity, but not at all unsuspected. So yes, those few soldiers of ours who decided to make asses of themselves now have this man's blood on their hands. Hope they are as happy now as they appear to be in those photos.

Oh c'mon ST, do you REALLY believe these folks beheaded this guy because of those pictures? You can't be that naive. :duh: The one's with blood on their hands are the terrorists who are too cowardly to even show their faces. I'd have no problem shoving a glow stick up all their corn holes while beheading the whole lot of them, and I'm sitting here, safely at my computer desk. I can only imagine what I'd be like if I had to guard these scum day in and day out.

Incidentally, some of those "violated" by our soldiers were suspected of being the culprits who sodomized Jessica Lynch. Paybacks are a b!tch. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040511/D82GGFKO6.html

Yeah, no blood on the hands of the people who actually DID the beheading though, right ST? Gotta be some American's fault, right? Can't possibly be the fault of the actual executioners, right?

You are simply amazing.

You know what, this pizzes me off. No, it's not the media's fault, solely, but do you enjoy seeing these pictures day in and day out? Do you think it's appropriate for children seeing this on the 5 o'clock news? This shiat has gotten more attention than the death of every US soldier put together, and why? Because it has shock value. This whole fiasco is exactly what they feed on. They've succeeded in dominating our media and making a small handful of our soldiers an example for the people who are out there honestly making a difference. And you know what? At the end of the day, the Iraqi "victims" are still alive. I can't believe any American can say that the execution of an innocent American citizen is just a consequence. What if that man was your brother, your husband, your best friend, your father? Would you still be spewing the same :bs:?

Maybe, maybe not. But we'll never know since those pictures do exist and the terrorists claim that is the reason. True, they are probably just using those pictures as an excuse, but it falls in the lap of those few soldiers for making it possible for the terrorists to claim them as a reason in the first place.

Then I would be even more upset at those troops who were the cause of this. There are no choices without consequence.
Again, it is highly possible that the pictures were just some lame excuse by the terrorists to do this act, but damn those troops who gave them that excuse in the first place. I'm just glad that our military as a whole doesn't think the same way as those foolish troops (and vrai) do.
