WaWa gas prices

I have noticed that the prices at WaWa always seem to go up just before a holiday weekend

It's only worth the trip to King George if you are passing through. When we used to drive to Norfolk or Nashville, we would stop at the Sheetz; and then two or three more times along the way when heading to Nashville. Gas prices used to get lower, the further south you travelled. Not anymore. Using the highest price in both Nashville and here, $2.26 here and $1.96 in Nashville; $1.89 where my Brother lives; just outside of Nashville.

The trip is worth it for me due to the cigarette prices. A carton across the bridge is $45 as apposed to $65 here. I try and plan for close to an empty tank when I get there but the gas isn't enough of a savings to make much of a difference. Usually the gas at the WaWa I go to is between $.10 and $.20 cheaper and if I am completely empty I take 25 gallons. At most that works out to $5 savings for a full tank. Don't get me wrong, over time that adds up and if I was closer to the bridge I would fill up there every week but I waste more than $5 worth of gas getting to that station.

I remember. I used to stop at the Sheetz either on the way to, or home from VA to buy a couple cartons of smokes, when we made the trip(s). You're a braver soul than I; waiting til almost empty to go across the bridge. MY luck, there would be a traffic backup and I'd run outta gas on the bridge.....Murphy's law and all that.....

Only at WaWa? I thought almost all gas stations raised prices before a holiday. This Monday coming is Columbus Day. I'll try to remember to check this weekend.

This morning, WaWa in Charlotte Hall is $2.19, WaWa at 4/235 is $2.28..usually not that different..

Generally don't get gas at Cooks, usually do that at Sheetz for the Charger, since they have 93, and WaWa for the rest of the fleet. Filled up the bike there, though and it was around $11

Just a thought but the price hike might have been an overreaction to the news that BP has to pay Billions due to the golf spill. I never quite understood that when some disaster hits some places will immediately hike there gas prices up. I always thought the gas was paid for and in the tanks so why would a disaster change the price of gas already paid for.

It might be a reaction to the news that they will cut back on production.

For sure, used to about 10 cents a gallon lower. Now that MD has set theirs to auto increase, it will get to be a larger difference.
