Why so mean spirited?

Mike, I do get it. I really do. I question if you get it though. I just dont see why it is so wrong for the bullying minority to be civil. Oh well... I did try to stand up for what I felt was the right thing to do.

What is right is not always popular, what is popular is not always right.

If that causes you and others like you harass even more...so be it. Have fun getting your kicks and punches in

I'm outta this thread as it is now pointless to defend a position/issue that is not taken seriously. :gives up: :shaking head:
You don't get it TP. If you did you wouldn't be posting this drivel. :bigwhoop:

And ask anyone who knows me IRL, I will tell you here and to your face how I feel. I pull no punches.

People who take the internet seriously and get their feelings hurt need professional psychiatric help. :jameo:

So, what you're saying is that everyone else should be like you.

NO...what I am saying is that everyone should be civil and respectful in their posts. If being sarcastic/making a joke...let people know so they do not misunderstand your post.

little things like :lmao: or :sarcasm: go a long way to help this..

You're missing a very important point here. I don't care. However, I'd like for you to show me where I've been less than civil. As for respect, that's something one earns, it's not a given.

Everyone was mean to me at first, except kwillia and BadGirl and otter and catt and Dems and Sockgirl and Pixie and Halfshell and Barbra and Prep and CMC and Kain and Jazz and Jabba and Tigger and Pete, but I stuck around and now I am the most popular and most loved poster of all time! :diva:

Ok...treat all the new people like crap when they ask questions.....keep it up until they earn your respect.

And you are missing a very important point as well, there is no reason to treat people like crap. You dont care....ok....that should say something.

I'll just agree to disagree with you. I think people should be civil and respectful of others on the boards....you dont agree.

Something else you may want to consider. We veterans like the forums just the way they are. Why is it that noobies always want to change things to their liking, instead of adjusting to what's already there? Who do you think you are to come here and tell us how we should behave? Aren't you just full of yourself?

Elaine,

I understand and perhaps you are right. But the new members do not know veterans of the forum. How are they to understand one member's sarcasm as being a joke? They dont know the people here....veterans should be understanding of that. How can you fault someone for not understanding the behaviors of the folks in the forum when they have never been here before? I've seen many new people ask questions to get helpful information but all they get is picked on. Thats not fair is it?

I know...some of yall are trying to just rile me up....and no....I'm not...and nor taking your punches seriously. I was trying to discuss a issue which I felt was valid.....while others saw as trival and an opportunity to be uncivil.

Oh well...
Thats why I said they should do a little reading first. Then you'd know it's not a personal attack.

Oh yeah...If you want a cyber coddle, you should go to the bay net forums. They've already established a syrupy sweet environment for people with thin skin. :yay:

Hey.. You and BS Gal represent the "fell right into place" crowd...:howdy: Along with several others. Why do the 'newbies' keep insisting that all newbies are 'run off' from here when our regular user base continues to grow and grow...

Because we're not coddling them and making them the center of our universe.

Why are some new members getting the impression of a hostile atmosphere on the forum?
:fixed:

Not every newbie is met with ridicule and flaming. I think of it like going to party where everyone knows everyone else, and you don't know anyone. Do you walk in, announce yourself and start telling them how much you hate the party, can't stand the house it's being held in, and complain that the guests are all a bunch of jerks?

Or do you smile, introduce yourself and try to find some people you have something in common with, while avoiding the drunk with the lampshade on his head?
