I completely agree. It would be brilliant, but neither of them will have the starch to take advantage of the opportunity handed to them.

Islam says, and I presume they believe, that foreign armies in the Holy lands is unacceptable and should be fought against. And we do support a monarchy that is hostile to many of the tenants of Islam.
Is that the same as saying Japan was justified in attacking us because we imposed an oil and steel embargo on them?
We had the debate to go or not. We went. Would we do it again? Isn't that the truer test? Would we fight back against Japan again?

The point is that they are having the fight and it is not hidden in some back room. It will be up to McCain and the RNC and GOP'ers nation wide to throw this back in their face. It's not their fault if we don't.
The opportunity is there.
...the media has taken great pains to NOT call Hill or Bill the 'r' word, I grant you that. They have also referred to Clinton tactics as 'Rove-like' and things that those other dirty 'r's, Republicans, do.

Well, they're not going to do that and we all know it. The Democrats are like these schoolyard bullies who bring out every nasty trick in the book, while the Republicans listened to their Mommies who told them that nice kids don't fight, they walk away.
He's having to face the story because it's too big now. He'll come out today and give some silly non-speech and all will be forgiven. Then Britney Spears will land in rehab again and the whole thing will be forgotten.
Watch and see.

...how did it become a big deal? You're saying this will all follow the old patterns and maybe so, BUT this is new, the bully's having at it. The opportunity exists for Obama to come out of this as the charade he is. The opportunity exists for Hillary to come out of this having defeated a Dem candidate using racial over and under tones. The fact that they are having this brawl may change everything and if not, it will provide right wing talkers and chatters with a pile of WMD's to use against these frauds come mid terms.

Oh please. Now I know you've lost your mind. Limbaugh et al have been talking about Democrat shenanigans for years, for all the good it's done. Majorities in the House and Senate, and more than likely a President in '08.

...we've pretty well established that you see no good for the country coming from this and I do. So, I may not buy into your pessimism nor you my optimism. What is not in question is that, today, Barrack Obama, leading contender for the DNC nomination for President of the United States, is going to face the nation and talk about his pastor who said 'God damn America' and he is there because the other leading Democratic candidate for President of the Untied States of America has forced him there.

I'll bet if you did a man on the street and asked people who Rev. Jeremiah Wright is, they wouldn't be able to tell you. A very small percentage of Americans will actually watch the Obama speech, and another small percentage will care enough to google it and get the media spin. But the vast majority of Americans will have no idea that this is even going on. The Democrat types that are aware will simply spin it away and say, as Bruzilla said, why are we attacking the man's religion and why are we holding him responsible for what his pastor says.
I don't know where you get this idea that anyone's even paying attention, outside of a few wonks like us.
And, Larry, as proof I offer you this: how many forumites are discussing this situation vs. how many are trying to get laid in Chit Chat?
Sad state of affairs in the U.S. of A. Why is it we don't have literacy tests to be able to vote?? Rhetorical. Because the parties, Democrat and Republican, want voters that are stupid. They want subjects and not citizens.

And when it comes down to voting day, the majority of the black men and women will vote for Obama. Others for Shrillary. And neither care about the speeches they've made or even heard any of them. If any bothered to look at where these two stood on issues or past voting records, they would probably turn Republican.
Obama is two faced. He says one thing and votes the other. 
There have been so many reasons mentioned in all the political discussions on this board as to why this man should not be in the White House. Shrillary doesn't even belong as a candidate.
